This is a map that illustrates the difference in carbon monoxide from 1996-2019. I decided to have the areas with the most negative change be positive because that means those states are doing the most to cut back on emitting Carbon monoxide. The states in black have done the least amount to cut back on their emissions. I decided on a monochromatic greyscale, because carbon, no matter the form, is associated with black. This color scheme is also very easy to interpret. I decided for there to only be 5 breaks because I wanted the map to be easy to understand.
